Michael Fisch's Priority Initiatives
Michael Fisch contributes his time and other resources to a range of institutions and initiatives beyond his work at American Securities. Through board service, academic engagement, and policy initiatives, he seeks to shape economic policy and strengthen institutions.
Leadership and Governance
In addition to his role as Founder and CEO of American Securities, Michael holds governance positions with several institutions focused on education, healthcare, and global policy.
He serves on the Atlantic Council’s Executive Committee of the Board of Directors and is Chairman of the Freedom and Prosperity Center Advisory Council. Michael is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Northwell Health, where he has served since 2018, and chairs the Governance Committee. In addition, he is a Director of the 1162 Foundation.
Through these roles, Michael provides strategic guidance and leadership, reflecting his broader commitment to advancing the missions of the organizations he supports.
Industry Engagement
Michael regularly engages with academic institutions and professional communities, sharing insights on private equity, leadership, and investment strategy. He has served on Dartmouth College’s President’s Leadership Council since 2011, supporting the institution’s leadership on key priorities.
He has been a long-standing guest lecturer at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business since 2006.
Michael also participates in industry conferences and forums, and contributes to The Fisch Files, an American Securities video series featuring conversations on business trends, leadership, and investing.
Additionally, he shares his perspectives through articles, media appearances, and industry discussions.
Policy and Research Engagement
Michael participates in initiatives focused on economic research and public policy through his work with the Atlantic Council’s Freedom and Prosperity Center. In addition to his role on Atlantic Council’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee, Michael is Chairman of the Freedom and Prosperity Center’s Advisory Council, which he founded.
The Center convenes policymakers, researchers, and business leaders to examine the institutional foundations of long-term economic growth and democratic governance. The Center publishes the Freedom and Prosperity Indexes annually, which provide comparative insights into freedom and prosperity across 164 countries over the last 35 years.
Through this work, Michael contributes to discussions that connect economic policy, institutional development, and long-term growth, drawing on his experience in investing and business leadership.
